Hal ini untuk mengakhiri penderitaan berkepanjangan yang menelan lebih dari 36 ribu jiwa di Gaza.
Xi Jinping menyampaikan seruannya ini di Forum Kerjasama China-Arab di Beijing pada Kamis (30/5/2024).
Dalam pidatonya, Xi menyatakan perang Israel di Gaza tak boleh berlanjut tanpa batas waktu.
Xi juga menegaskan keadilan tak boleh hilang selamanya.
Pidato Xi Jinping ini disampaikannya di hadapan pemimpin negara-negara Arab seperti Bahrain, Mesir, Uni Emirat Arab, dan Tunisia serta menteri-menteri luar negeri Liga Arab.
Dalam kesempatan yang sama, Xi juga mengecam penggunaan veto oleh Amerika Serikat terhadap pemberian status kenegaraan penuh pada Palestina di PBB.
Lebih lanjut, Forum Kerja Sama China-Arab itu meminta Dewan Keamanan PBB untuk mengadopsi resolusi yang mengikat guna mencapai gencatan senjata yang segera dan menyeluruh serta langgeng.
Sebagaimana diketahui, China selama ini selalu memberi dukungan penuh terhadap Palestina.
China juga tak henti-hentinya menyerukan solusi dua negara untuk menyelesaikan konflik Israel-Palestina.
