Ayah dari sopir BMW yang menabrak mahasiswa UGM akhirnya muncul ke publik setelah diam cukup lama. Dia menyampaikan permintaan maaf dan penjelasan terkait kecelakaan maut yang menewaskan Argo Ericko Achfandi.Setia Budi Tarigan, ayah dari Christiano Pengarapenta Pengidahan Tarigan, baru muncul ke publik untuk menghormati keluarga Argo yang masih dalam masa berkabung. Selain itu, dia juga harus mendampingi anaknya dalam pemeriksaan polisi karena yang bersangkutan masih trauma pascakecelakaan tragis tersebut.
Dia menjelaskan, sejak peristiwa kecelakaan pada 24 Mei 2025, dia langsung menuju Yogyakarta untuk mendampingi anaknya di Polresta Sleman. Dia juga menyempatkan diri datang ke RS Bhayangkara untuk memberikan penghormatan terakhir kepada jenazah Argo.
Setia Budi juga secara langsung menyampaikan belasungkawa kepada keluarga korban melalui perantara yang hadir di lokasi. Tak hanya itu, dia mengirimkan wakil ke rumah duka di Depok untuk membantu proses pemakaman almarhum.
Dia juga membantah berbagai isu liar yang beredar di media sosial, termasuk tuduhan dirinya membayar sejumlah uang kepada pihak keluarga korban. Selain menyampaikan duka cita, ayah tersangka juga meminta maaf kepada masyarakat luas yang merasa terganggu dengan kegaduhan publik akibat peristiwa ini.
